Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers, the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress, was asked in an interview with Glamour magazine this month why it was that she encouraged women to run for office. This was her response: The first time I walked into the House Republican Conference, I remember thinking Wow, theres a lot of men in this room... Our voices are important. Our perspectives are important. We will have better legislation when women are involved PREACH! So excited to be teaching women AND men how important their voices are!
