Republicans are destroying Louisiana. President Clinton had a major wetlands project being conducted in Louisiana during his administration and such was restoring and bringing back wetlands and wildlife (in other words, a project that was making the environment better, both for animals and humans). That wetlands project was restoring natural barriers and reefs that are vital to protecting Louisiana from storm surges from hurricanes. However, when asshole Bush got appointed into The White House, one of the first things he did was to defund and get rid of that wetlands project. So, for about 5 years, the wetlands (marshes, barriers, etc) were left to recede and when Hurricane Katrina hit, communities and natural wetlands/parks were destroyed. Then came the BP disaster in which Govercorporator Piyush Jindal bowed down and kissed the asses of his BP and other oil company donors and allowed the wetlands and southern Louisiana coast and waterways become polluted, not only from the BP oil spill, but with toxic chemicals (which Jindal and BP knew were such) that volunteers were given to use to sop it up (but it did the opposite, it did more pollution and caused serious health problems to those poor volunteers). BP happened because of deregulation under asshole Bush, and Corpwhore Jindal continued such. Louisiana, back in the day, was one of the most beautiful and health wetlands/swamps. semi-tropical areas on the planet. When oil companies from Texas and other outside corps came into Louisiana to pillage and rape it of its natural resources (trees included), that once beautiful state started down a slope to a massive cesspool. Louisianas Atchatfalaya basin (huge area between Lafayette and Baton Rouge) was once a beautiful Cypress tree paradise, until those assholes from other parts came in and cut them down). So much more could be written about this unique state of Louisiana, and it is sad that so much negative things are surfacing than before because of the neglect and criminality from certain politicians.
