Republicans began putting the brakes on American enterprise in the 1980s, stopping what had been FOUR PLUS DECADES of engineering PROGRESS. Granted there was some progress in certain segments but our INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORTATION and basic FOUNDATION businesses - such as the STEEL INDUSTRY were virtually disemboweled so that a few corporations, tied into FOREIGN interests, could take over and bankrupt what had been WORLD-LEADING industries. AND IT CANT BE BLAMED ON THE UNIONS! Allowing tax breaks for some and relaxing import tariffs on others efficiently KILLED some AMERICAN INDUSTRIES and those republican politicians PROFITED HUGELY.
