Republicans have been complaining nonstop since the health care reform effort began, offering nothing in the way of reasonable alternatives, and everything in the way of obstructionism, sabotage, and endless Groundhog Day repeal votes. So its time to push back and issue them a challenge: Don’t like Obamacare? Open Medicare for all. leftaction/action/medicare-for-all Medicare is wildly popular, successful, and cost-efficient. Why not offer ALL Americans the option to access it? And if the Republicans want to oppose it, fine: Let them go on record arguing against Medicare. A majority of Democrats supported this in principle (the so-called public option) during the initial health care debate, but it went nowhere because of Republican opposition and kowtowing to the insurance industry. A majority of Americans support a public option. The CBO says it would cut billions from the deficit. There is simply no good reason NOT to do it. Its time to start pushing back.
