Rescue friends and supporters. Say you were following a charity - TopicsExpress

Rescue friends and supporters. Say you were following a charity that helps homeless widgets get ready for adoption. Lets say it costs about $150 to $250 to get that widget ready for its new home. (They say they average $550 per widget?) Said rescue posts a sad story and picture of the widget in need and asks for donations and shares. You just need to donate to a general fund and put the widgets name in the comments. They wont help the widget until that initial vet care donation is met? Say that charity has over 380,000 followers. They post a need for one widgets safety and if even 1% of their followers donate even $1 they raise $3,800 when they only asked for $150-250? There is no chip in or $ counter watching donations and alerting folks to stop giving when they have successfully saved a widget. BTW, people wanting to adopt that widget still pay an adoption fee of around $325. Where does all the money go? Why ask for basic widget care when adoption fees cover that? Why make every widget a donation widget instead of just the true special out of the ordinary widgets in need? I think I am an idiot for not being in the widget business. Do your research. Know who and what you support. Give local and save local widgets in need. BTW this applies to all time or treasure donations, widget or say even rescue animals?
