Research and Trade Officer (Embassy) Job ID: 9162 Location: Research and trade officer (embassy) Duties/Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be responsible for or have the following duties:- Undertake research and analysis on key political and economic issues in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo Monitor foreign policy, security, human rights and justice developments in these countries and advise on significant developments Prepare written material including research reports, correspondence, talking points, speeches, strategic analyses, formal diplomatic notes and unclassified cables to feed into high level meetings and critical events Build and maintain networks and relationships in government, academia, diplomatic missions, think tanks, media groups and other non-government organisations and maintain biographical information and contact details of prominent Zimbabwe officials and key interlocutors Represent the Political-Economic section at relevant forums and functions Organise and generally provide support to meetings, receptions, international meetings and other political and public diplomacy events Under supervision, coordinate trade visit programs and provide administrative and logistical support for visiting ministers and officials; assist with the arrangement of visit programs for the Head of Mission and other Embassy officers and Embassy interlocutors to attend Embassy, regional/international meetings and conferences Support the administration of Embassy Projects ensuring program compliance with Post policy and procedures including.
