Researchers such as Dr. William Tiller, former head of material - TopicsExpress

Researchers such as Dr. William Tiller, former head of material sciences at Stanford University, have hypothesized that the power of the group feeling-thought form is equal to the square of the number of people in the group. This is supported by the understanding from Leviticus 26:7–8 that “one hundred will chase away ten thousand.” Since 1973, many studies have demonstrated that when a critical number of meditators gather together to focus on the highest truth, there is a statistical decrease in the amount of social disorder in the area where they are meditating. The research cited in The Maharishi Effect points to a critical number to begin to bring about this social effect, which is estimated to be the square root of one percent of a population area. The profound implication of this phenomenon is one of the greatest hopes and potential power we have to create world peace. The proven power of group meditations has been a source of growth of feeling-thought form for peace movements such as: Creating Peace by Being Peace, which is a twice-daily, inner-feeling prayer and meditation experience; Peace the 21st, which encourages peace- makers to meditate for peace on each equinox and solstice at 7 p.m.; World Healing Hour, whose supporters meditate for peace at noon Greenwich time on the last day of each year; and a variety of other groups that suggest we meditate collectively for peace at 7:00 a.m. or noon daily, at noon on Sundays, or on the last day of each month. To practice this principle actively is a wonderful way to participate in creating peace consciousness on the planet. It is a way of healing the soul of the planet.
