Residents of the city of Denton TX voted in favor of the FRACKING BAN by more than 58 percent of the 25,376 votes cast. Oil and gas operators and mineral rights owners were against the ban. Denton citizens charge that fracking is noisy, water intensive and fraught with heavy truck traffic that can sometimes damage roadways and encroaches upon their homes and lives. Within 12 hours of the vote, the LEGAL WAR against the wishes of Denton’s citizens commenced. Lawsuits challenging the ban were filed by the Texas General Land Office and the Texas Oil and Gas Association. Both have ties to the BUSH family. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 exempted the oil and gas industry from the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Water Act and the National Environmental Policy Act for fracking. Critics of the law see it as the LEGACY of ashes of the Bush administration. Both Jeb and his son George P. have ties to the fracking industry.
