“Resignation to God’s Plans, and acceptance of God’s Will aren’t the same thing, nor do they produce the same results. Resignation says, ‘I have no choice but to endure this hardship.’ Resignation allows me freedom to feel sorry for myself and to doubt God’s caring presence. Acceptance says, ‘I will trust You, God, for the outcome.’ Whether or not God allowed or ordained it, I probably wouldn’t like or accept the explanation even if God gave one. It all comes back to trust—the place of true acceptance, not just a profession of God’s sovereignty and virtue... My experiencing an abundant life has nothing to do with being ‘strong enough.’ Instead it has everything to do with my taking to heart God’s sovereignty and the virtue of His plans—with or without appeasing answers.”
