Respect Court Verdict – NDC’s Women Org. Appeals Story: W. K. Adusu As the nation prepares for the verdict of the Supreme Court hearing the 2012 Presidential election petition case, the Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organiser for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ms. Vivian Obaa Tampa Ankrah, has embarked on a regional peace talk. She calls on the party supporters, especially, the women to respect the outcome of the Supreme Court verdict, in whichever way, in order to keep the country, Ghana, devoid of unnecessary fights; like it is in other countries. Vivian Obaa Tampa said women and children are always the main victims anytime there is a civil unrest in a country; so it is important as regional women’s organiser to encourage peace and unity of this country is the priority of her followers than any other thing. The Greater Accra Regional Women Organiser, informed her fellow women organisers in their various areas that people might want to provoke them; especially now that the verdict is ripe for Thursday, but they should not give in so there could be peace at all times. In an interview with The Republic in Accra, Madam Vivian Ankrah, explained that the way things are going, it behooves upon her as organiser to allay the fears of the women through education within her jurisdiction, so they could also propagate peace message to others for the sake of unity of the country. She educates the women on why they need not to fear, and should respect and accept the verdict no matter who it favours. It is the right of anybody at all to go to court when he/she does not understand something, she said. And she added, why her party people need to remain calm on the face of provocation. Ghana is the only country we all have and we need to protect it so we could live in peacefully, Madam Vivian lamented. No other country around us would accept us so we have to defy all odds to maintain and to protect our country Ghana for posterity sake, the NDC Regional Women Organiser appealed. And she also prayed for God’s favour upon the NDC party.
