Response to my complaint about the loyalist riots being reported as being caused by two sides. The story it links to has changed completely. Dear Mr Neish Thanks for contacting us with your views. BBC News reported on the disturbances in Glasgow on the night of 19 September 2014. At 2230, BBC Two’s Newsnight explained the scenes as they unfolded, charting the sectarian nature of the unrest and explored the possibility that some of the violence was orchestrated and planned by Loyalist groups. We went on to report the violence the next morning, on BBC One’s Breakfast and across the BBC News website: bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-29287409 bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-29288249 bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-29294562 We believe we reported on the violence and on the wider reaction to the referendum result in a fair and impartial manner. Thank you again for contacting us, we value your feedback. All complaints are sent to senior management and news teams every morning and we included your points in this overnight report. These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future programmes. Kind Regards BBC Complaints bbc.co.uk/complaints NB This is sent from an outgoing account only which is not monitored.
