Resprayed my dash the otherday, almost same colour as stock s1. Really happy with how it came out for a duplicolour rattlecan job! For anyone thinking about doing it, here was my method: - Used 800 grit wet sandpaper VERY lightly, no pressure - 5 light coats of Septone plastic primer filler, 3 minutes apart. - Wait an hour, then lightly drysanded 1500 grit, followed by 2000grit. Was ridiculously smooth at this point - Left to dry overnight, then gave it 7-8 light coats of duplicolour Vinyl Fabric paint (worked well on plastic) spaced about 2 minutes apart each, followed by a final coat after an hour. Really makes a huge difference to overall interior look, makes the car look alot newer. Takes a bit of patience but well worth it. If your dash has a lot of scratches this will take the majority out, but sanding it right back from a rough grit sandpaper upwards will just leave it with more scratches, so I wouldnt go with lower than 800. Id actually suggest spraying it outside with a light breeze and starting a line upwind, as it spreads it really evenly this way and will give a real thin layer. Takes more coats and more paint, but worth it imo.
