Rest in peace Aj Masters - a wonderful friend and one of the most amazing human beings I’ve ever met. AJ had kindness, laughter and music filling up his soul.. His spirit, laughter and music was effortless. AJ was one of the first cats I met when I moved to Nashville in 2004.. We often took writing trips down to the White River in Arkansas with our publishing company. I’ll always remember those times as some of the best in my life. I had just moved from Boston and spending time with AJ was such a breath of fresh air. He had the best stories and man, could he make his old Gibson sing! He was a songwriting hero of mine and I always marveled at his talent.. And how easy he made songwriting look. He was all soul and truth. Prayers to his family and all of his friends. AJ was one of those people that EVERYBODY loved. I was really privileged to write a bunch of songs with him.. This is one that I wrote with AJ and our wonderful friend Jara Johnson.. I remember letting AJ use the name of my dog “Jackson” in the first verse of this song “That’s What I Call Home” and him getting a kick out of that:) I know AJ is home now.. I’ll miss him dearly and always remember him with a smile on my face. rest in peace my brother. youtu.be/zC0HDbS79RM
