Restore Nineveh Now The American Mesopotamian Organization is pleased to announce that it will, in coordination with the Iraqi Christian Relief Council and the Yazidi International Human Rights Organization, soon launch the Restore Nineveh Now initiative. Restore Nineveh Now is a grassroots initiative that will call on members of the Assyrian, Yazidi and wider world community to support and advance the establishment of the Nineveh Plain Province in northwestern Iraq and Sinjar region. More than ever, Assyrians, Yazidis, Shabaks and other ethno-religious minorities in Iraq must have aggressive humanitarian relief, and ultimately, a semi-autonomous region in which they take the lead in providing their own security and the development of their own futures. In advance of launching Restore Nineveh Now, the American Mesopotamian Organization and the Iraqi Christian Relief Council have sponsored Jeff Gardner, noted photographer and humanitarian media consultant, to travel through Iraq, from Arbil to Nohadra (Dohuk), gathering photographs and testimonies of Assyrians, Yazidis and other peoples who want so much to defeat the terror group ISIS, return to their homes and begin rebuilding their lives in the Nineveh Plain Province and the Sinjar region. Already the Iraqi Christian Relief Council is coordinating and providing humanitarian aid to thousands of displaced peoples in northwestern Iraq, and will continue to do so for its part of Restore Nineveh Now. Coming in the month of October, Restore Nineveh Now will launch a website which will contain not only beautiful photographs from Mr. Gardner’s work, but more importantly, information and specific action items needed to Restore the Nineveh Plain Province Now.
