Restoring Our City With God Their feet run to evil, And they - TopicsExpress

Restoring Our City With God Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace.” — Isaiah 59:7-8 While the verses above are nearly 3,000 years old, they seem as if they were written today. Isaiah was explaining that Israel’s moral corruption as a nation was essentially blocking God’s deliverance. The same correlation is made later in the New Testament concerning all mankind and today we are living in the sad truth of these verses penned so long ago. When people abandon God’s commands and His will, all hell can break loose in any generation. A society that is bent on their own version of justice and peace will find neither according to God. Therefore, God’s people need not to be divided over race or culture. God’s people do not have to go on prayer walks for their version of justice; nor join hands with race agitators who stir the pot of hatred and exploit the grief of the victims they claim care about. Rather, we must reflect God in our actions and attitudes. We must pray for God to convict the hearts of our disenchanted neighbors and delusional political leaders. Pray for those in leadership to be competent on what needs to be done and compassionate toward God’s leading. Several kings and men of power in the Bible sought the favor of God through spiritual shepherds like Joseph, Daniel, and Paul. For this reason we must serve and respect our police force as they provide protection as well as maintain order in our city. Let us pray for our city and its leaders to abandon their own depraved agendas and focus on Restoring our City with God. May God Bless you as you walk in the confidence of His counsel. Pastor Ray
