The Crown Academy went down to their first home defeat of the ACT2014 Championship, losing 1-nil to visiting Mandalay at Olympic Stadium this morning. As coach Bouy Dary lamented at the final whistle; We started very slowly and didnt play like we wanted to in the first-half. Crown improved in the 2nd half but Mandalay had already grabbed the lead just two minutes after the restart when the home team failed to clear the ball to safety. In Sodavid had the best chance of the 1st period but blasted over the top, while Chhuot Senteang sent a free header wide of the post with his teams most obvious opportunity later on. Crown lost goalkeeper Kong Chanvuthy to a kick in the face with 15 minutes to go. A slow start to the match cost Crown and Mandalay saw out the game for their first victory. The match referee made a serious error of judgement in only allowing 2 minutes of stoppage time, when 10 substitutions, 4 stretcher cases and a water break demanded at least 8 minutes of extra time.
