Resuscitation of Schools In Borno: Committee Commenced Distribution of Free Uniforms, Feeding and Free Ride In Maiduguri and Jere The high-powered Committiee on the Resuscitation of Primary and Junior Secondary School System Chaired Dr. Mohammed El-Nur Gongel had this week embarked on the distribution of Free Uniform and other sorted school materials to pupils across Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Areas. Dr. El-Nur Dongel had while distributing the sorted items said the scheme is first of the kind in the history of Borno State and called on parents and guardians to send their wards to school as government has taken adequate measures to provide security to both pupils and teachers. Adding that the committee is doing its best to equip all classrooms with desks and chairs in order enhance learning condition in the schools. He further stressed that arrangement has been concluded for the takeoff of the scheme at the Biu and Monguno Zones as soon as schools reopen in January 2015. The Schools which benefited from the scheme this week are Yerwa Central, Yerwa Practicing, Maimusari and Goni Kachallari Primary and Junior Secondary Schools. It could be recalled that the Committee on the Resuscitation Primary and Junior Secondary School System in Borno State was inaugurated by His Excellency Hon. Kashim Shettima on 14th October,2014 which was official flagged-off on 26th November, 2014. About one hundred thousand pupils are expected to benefit in the first phase of the scheme.
