The proposal seeking extension of retirement age by two years from existing 65 was approved at a meeting of the university syndicate on March 22, Abu Bakar Siddique, register of the university said on Friday. The decision was hailed by the JU Teachers’ Association (JUTA) led by Prof Forid Ahmed. He said the decision was approved as per the manifesto of the VC panel election. “We welcomed this decision,” added Ahmed.
