RetroFit Tameside, Join the Mindful Movement Revolution I - TopicsExpress

RetroFit Tameside, Join the Mindful Movement Revolution I recently received an email from a company delivering fitness certifications (an internationally recognised provider). The marketing blurb (as you would expect) was very compelling. As well as having a stirring title (Clue: an equally cheesy movie starring Ben Affleck, Bruce Willis, Steve Buscemi and Liv Tyler with the A list heroes saving the earth from total annihilation) the poster exclaimed that there were 10 great reasons to buy this product. Strangely there were actually 12 supposed reasons to purchase this product. Not sure about you, but this did not impress me as I am not confident placing my trust in those who can’t count (or indeed proof read) competently. A few notable points from the 12 (rather than 10) alleged advantages to taking this course were; (Cheesy name changed to prevent further embarrassment) 1) The largest recorded Armandaleg workout involved 611 participants 2) An Armandaleg workout lasting 30 minutes has been shown to burn up to 500 calories 3) Armandaleg is based on a ‘Personal training in a group fitness environment’ ideology My thoughts: Personal training ideology and 611 workout participants? - yeah, good luck with that one, Gandalf. Show me the research linked to the claim in point 2) and please inform me who paid for the study. If it exists.
