Rev 21:4,5 And GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And He that sat upon the Throne said, Behold, I make all things new And He said unto me, Write: for these Words are True and Faithful. There is a time, yet in the future, when GOD will make all things right, for the former things will pass away, the entire universe being changed, renovated, and cleansed by fire, for GOD (.... is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. II Pe 3:9-10). A renovated universe free from all sin will take their place; creation will finally (.... be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of GOD. Rom 8:21), transformed by such changes in their appearance that they seemed to be just created. Our salvation will have been completed, we will have been glorified, for Jesus will have presented His Church (....to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that It should be holy and without blemish. Eph 5:27). The former things having passed away is now true of our salvation; it is a present reality for the one in Christ Jesus, for (.... if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Cor 5:17). There may still be tears; there may still be sorrow; there may still be crying; there may still be pain, and there will most assuredly be death as we sojourn upon this earth awaiting (.... the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. I Pe 1:9), expectantly (Looking for that blessed Hope, and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13), eagerly anticipating His return. Indeed the great fundamental Truth of our life as Children of GOD is that the former things are gone, passed away; we are no longer the same person we were before we met Christ; all things - our actions, our attitude, our goals, our very reason for living - have become new in light of our life in Christ Jesus. The filthy garments of our life once stained by sin have been put off, being exchanged for the white robe of the pure righteousness of Jesus Christ the precious, spotless (....Lamb of GOD, which taketh away the sin of the world. Jn 1:29). Our sin has not only been forgiven, but forgotten, removed as far as the east is from the West. (Ps 103:12). Being new creatures in Christ Jesus (II Cor 5:17), we no longer have to or are to live as we once lived, for we have been co-crucified with Christ and are now dead to sin (Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Rom 6:6), and GOD has called us to (....put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after GOD is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph 22-24). Fellow believer, and I repeat, because we are no longer the same person we used to be whatsoever we do in word or deed, we are to do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to GOD and the Father by Him. (Col 3:17), bowing our heart and lifting our voices victoriously in praise as we proclaim, (Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Ps 16:11). The Truth presented from the Word of GOD today, brings to light two questions to which every person must give an answer, and their answer will define their eternal destiny: Have you been made a new creation in Christ Jesus? Are you walking the Path of Life?
