Rev. Kimbros Scripture for today, Wednesday November 6, 2013. II Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. There is a difference in reading and studying. Reading can be more of a leisure experience. Studying on the other hand requires work. Many of us read Gods Word (and that is good), but we need to also make sure that we take time to study Gods Word. The Holy Bible was given to us by God. It is truly HIS WORDS. In II Timothy 3:16, 17, The Apostle Paul wrote All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Reading allows you to see the power, the richness, and the nourishment of Gods Word. Studying allows you to experience the power, the richness, and the nourishment of Gods Word. James 1:22 reminds us that as Christians, we are charged to not only hear The Word of God but also be doers of Gods Word, not only in the church and in the world, but first in ourselves. Make a plan today to include some study time in your week to study the scriptures. Reading can provide you with knowledge but studying can position you to be able to receive the understanding and wisdom that only God can provide. Attend Bible Study and Sunday School at your church or to a church where God leads you and ask The Lord to help you be a doer of His Word! God Bless You! Share the ministry with your friends!
