Revelling in True love “The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing. -Zephaniah 3:17 (Amp) Often times in our journey through life, we feel low and it seems God is not there, our text says that God is with us, He is mighty to save, He loves us even more than we can imagine, and His love is unconditional and forever. Know that God is with you, and He is rejoicing over you, His mercy and loving kindness has made Him forget your past sins, which the enemy might want to use to hold you bound. Many struggle to accept the love of God. Have you ever listened to someone express love and appreciation for you only to realize that although you can hear the words, you are unable to take them in? Some people describe this as having no place to hang words of love. Others talk about a heart that cant hold love, as a broken pitcher cannot hold water. One very important goal of our journey with the Lord is to increase our capacity to take in Gods love for us, sometimes we try to love other people but can’t as we don’t have love in us, like the popular saying, “you can’t give what you don’t have. We need to open up to God, who is LOVE, as we become whole, words of love will more easily find a home deep within us. Gradually our capacity to receive love from God will increase. As our hearts heal they will hear and hold Gods love more effectively and eventually our hearts can be filled and running over with love. May God increase your capacity to take in and hold onto his love, which is the ONLY real and unconditional love, it is everlasting and it endures all.
