Revenue officer held by Anti Corruption Bureau for taking bribe: A revenue official was arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 in Chhattisgarhs Dhamtari district on Tuesday. Patwari Khushiram Navrang (55), posted at village Khisora under Magalroad Tehsil, was caught red handed while accepting bribe from the complainant Rajendra Kumar Dewangan for providing some documents related to his ancestral property, an ACB official told PTI. Dewangan, a resident of Dhaurabhata village had approached Navrang few days back seeking some documents related to his ancestral property which was registered on his mothers name. Dewangan was willing to transfer the ownership of the property on his name, the official said. For the purpose, Navrang allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 3,000, following which complainant complained to ACB in this connection, he said. Later, the complaint was verified and the accused had agreed to accept bribe at his residence-cum-office in Khisora following which the trap was laid there, he said. A case under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him, the official added.
