Review: The Snow Queen at Hoghton Tower held on Saturday 30th November and 1st December.... When Kay was snatched from his home by the beautiful, cruel Snow Queen, his friend Gerda set out on an epic journey to rescue him. As she searched, she encountered a series of strangers to whom she told her tale. Charmed by her story and her innocence, each of them helped Gerda, so that, at last, she was able to find the Snow Queens icy palace. But, at the end of her epic journey, did she manage to set Kay free? The well attended performances, which took place in the magnificent Banqueting Hall in front a huge log fire, proved to be a great success. They were the start of Christmas at Hoghton Tower. This year the Tower is holding a Love Craft craft fair on Sunday 8th December followed by the Merchant of Hoghton Christmas Market on Sunday 15th December. Also on this same Sunday there will be ‘A Magical Meeting with Father Christmas’ from 10.00am to 12.30pm. This is always a popular event and visitors would be wise to come early. The final ‘happening’ at the Tower will be the Christmas Lunches which will be held between Monday 16th and Thursday 19th December. All the events are on Hoghton Tower’s website; hoghtontower.co.uk
