Reward For The Faithful Key verse: “He that findeth his life - TopicsExpress

Reward For The Faithful Key verse: “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it” (Matthew 10:39). Our daily life experience confirms that life runs through the principle of sowing and reaping. A farmer that refuses to sow his grains will suffer poverty and untold hardship. The same goes for a sinner that refuses to repent because of peer pressure and pleasures of life. He will definitely lose his life in eternity and suffer everlasting perdition in hell. The Lord Jesus Christ did not mince words concerning the purpose of His coming into the world and the demands of God for anyone to make heaven. While addressing the disciples, He reminded them of the oppositions to expect from close friends, relatives and parents. But then, at this critical point, they must not only love Christ above all else, but be willing to take up their cross and follow Him! Failure to do this will mean they are not worthy of the Saviour. If this did not sink down well, they were to understand that, “he that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it” (verse 39). What a weighty message from the very lips of the Saviour! Many so-called Christian folks today halt between two opinions. They are neither cold nor hot. And like the chameleon, they often change their skin. They hold so firmly on to the mundane things of the world and are never able to come to the point of real commitment and consecration to the Lord. They desire to please the world in their dressing, social interactions and lifestyle. They compete with the world in every regard and yet claim they are going to a “better country”. It must be emphasised that self-denial, no matter the cost, is foundational to making heaven. No sacrifice, self-denial, persecutions or opposition can be compared with the glory that awaits every sincere believer. If we are faithful to the end, there is a sure reward. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If we die to self, we will resurrect in glory with Christ. TEXT: MATTHEW 10:34-42
