Richard Percy writes: Vivian Hudson Oden, wearer of many hats in life’s never ending cycle. Daughter of Ben and Elizabeth Hudson, sister to Bob Hudson, wife of Olin Oden, Postmistress to Bellflower, mother to Jerry, Roger, Brenda and Mike. Jerry’s CB handle is “Abe” because he is tall, slim, white headed. He honestly looks like Abe Lincoln. Many trouble free miles in his Truck Service career. Don’t know how many miles of pushing those hard, black, round tires to move our life’s commodities to their destination. Roger, with many miles and hard animal express. Known best for his many long-horn cattle. Brenda is a Lady in her own right. She’s wife, mother, grandmother and nurse and an all-around “super-girl”. She has spent many hours working at decorating the church and planting flowers as well as tending them at our Presbyterian church. We have had the privilege of enjoying all her hard work. Mike, well, I’m too old to know him and know about his station in life but you can be sure it was done with the Hudson-Oden influence. Never have we failed to get a “big, happy hug” from Vivian Oden. She always makes us feel special. She spent many long days sorting everyone’s mail. She would love for people to stop by and say hi or visit with her, but it’s hard to catch her at home. She is still a busy lady, but her memories of Bellflower would be priceless. She is a diamond in the family and the community.
