Richard Saul Wurman, key note speaker for Design Week West Michigan will meet with KCAD students! He is trained as an architect under Louis Kahn at Penn. He practiced architecture, urban design, archaeology, cartography, and also got into design education. He seems to have never been bothered by disciplinary boundaries. He’s well known for his graphic design work, the many, many books he’s written, the creation/founding of information architecture (graphic communication systems for complex organizations/information), the founding of the original TED talks, and the subsequent launching of many, many wide-ranging conferences that pull together big thinkers and doers.
