Richard Smith Memorial Ride-out Saturday 11th Oct 2014 Our Good Friend Richard Smith’s memorial ride to the Ramblers Retreat through the beautiful Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside. In memory of our dear friend and riding companion we have organised a ride to one of Richards favourite tea stops The Ramblers Retreat in Staffordshire. All welcome and all money raised will be donated to the Air Ambulance. The route starts at Rainbow car park at 8.50 leaving at 9.15am. Please arrive with a full tank of fuel, this run has coffee /tea stops and a lunch stop. The route meanders along fantastic roads, with stunning scenery, through Derbyshire into Staffordshire. The whole route is around 160 miles in total. Our lunch stop will be the fantastic Ramblers Retreat, where you can sit outside, or inside depending on the weather. For those who haven’t been before you are in for a treat, I can personally recommend their homemade lemon meringue pie!!!!, it was also Richards favourite!!!!!!!! After lunch we will continue our journey twisting and turning through some of the best views you can find anywhere in England. We will finally arrive back at Rainbow around 4.00pm, for coffee and biscuits, and to share our experiences of the day with other riders. Don’t miss it this will be a great day out, pillions welcome.
