Richard Swarbrick, an artist for the firm Hotspur and Argyle has created some of the finest footballing animations. His first, in 2011, a Gareth Bale animation (bit.do/Bale) for his remarkable performances against Inter Milan, was something truly special and unlike anything seen before. Since then, he has gone on to make corporate videos of the likes of Messi, Rodriguez (bit.do/JRod7), Henman and others for The BBC, The FIFA World Cup (bit.do/Copa14), Adidas and more. His latest video is unbelievable. Shot in real-time, and using 25 hand-painted notebooks, Swarbrick has documented the career of Cristiano Ronaldo in anticipation of the FIFA Ballon DOr gala which takes place tonight in a hollowed-out volcano somewhere.
