He is the owner of private investment company Millhouse LLC. His takeover and subsequent investment in Chelsea has transformed their fortunes over the past decade. The club have won 11 major trophies in this period and have grown into a worldwide known club, having spent endlessly on numerous star players. #9 John Fredriksen (Valerenga) - $11.5 billion Source John Fredriksen accumulated his riches from shipping and oil tankers. He was recognised as the richest man in Norway, but this was voided when he opted to abandon his Norwegian citizenship to become a citizen of Cyprus. He is the owner of Valerenga, who are in the top flight of Norwegian football. The club could only manage an 8th placed finish last season. Fredriksen wiped the club’s debt in 2003. #8 Paul Allen (Seattle Sounders) - $15 billion Source Paul Allen is most well-known for co-founding the famous Microsoft Corporation with Bill Gates. He has ownership in more than just football; owning the Seattle Seakhawks in the NFL and the Portland Trailblazers in the NBA. He is part owner of the Seattle Sounders, who have competed in the MLS since 2009. He was estimated at the 53rd richest person in the world in 2013. #7 Francois-Henri Pinault (Rennes) - $15 billion Source Francois Henri Pinault is the Chief Executive Officer of Kering, a multinational holding company that develops a worldwide brand portfolio. He is currently the chairman and chief executive of phone companies Telmex and América Móvil. He bought a 30% share in Grupo Pachuca, a leading business group in Mexico. Grupo Pachuca has shares in Club Leon and Club Pachuca, and so Slim acquired ownership of these two clubs through his 30% purchase.
