Richmond, VA: Med Inc. Respiratory Therapist Company: Provides complex, high quality rehabilitation and respiratory products and services for patients and their families. The Company has been in business since 1999 and provides products and services in VA, MD, and DC. Basic Function: The Respiratory Therapist position is responsible for developing and servicing respiratory business in the Richmond area. Med Inc.’s principle focus is on patients with COPD and neuro-muscular diseases requiring non-invasive ventilation equipment in addition to other respiratory devices. Reporting Relationship: Reports to the President of the Company and based in the Richmond office. Work hours are expected to be 8:30am-5:00pm with occasional after hours responsibility. Principal Duties: Patient Services 1. Be a strong advocate for our patient’s respiratory needs, working closely with referral sources, to improve their respiratory capacity and quality of life. 2. Set the patient up on respiratory devices, including proper settings and patient/caregiver education. 3. Follow proper protocols for patient monitoring and follow up. 4. Drive compliance with equipment utilization. 5. Responsibility for proper communication with referral sources regarding patient status. 6. Complete required documentation for patient chart, including information required for insurance payment. Targeting/Sales 1. Help target key opportunities for respiratory referrals in the Richmond area (pulmonologists, hospitals, other). 2. Identify the key referral sources (doctors, therapists, social workers, etc) related to each opportunity. 3. Be part of a Team calling effort on the target facilities/referral sources. 4. Create strong, consistent and sustainable relationships with key referral sources. Work closely with Respiratory Team to develop key business practices for running a highly successful department. Desired Qualifications: The Respiratory Therapist candidate should have strong respiratory knowledge along with exceptional communication skills.
