Rick and I have completed the TESOL certification ((6 month - TopicsExpress

Rick and I have completed the TESOL certification ((6 month program) for teaching English as a second language in a month. I guess you could say that we are excited!! We have applied on line with several placement agencies plus we applied directly to 3 International schools. We sent email cover letters, along with our VisualCV Resumes, to the Shanghai American School, Puxi Campus, and the British International School, Shanghai Pudong. We also completed online application to the Yew Chung International School (YCIS) which was a grueling process to complete and took HOURS! But it will be well worth it if we get in. We are open to positions in the following Chinese cities: Beijing, Shanghia, Chong Qing, Hong Kong or Guangzhou. There are jobs anywhere in China but we would rather live in one of these cities. Jazzy fell in love with the pictures of YCIS!!! It is a good thing that the kids can go to school there free because we would be teachers; a childs tuition to go there is $30,000 a year! Makes you appreciate our fantastic free public education in the US! In looking at the educational piece, the girls would get at Yew Chung, it would be half English curriculum and the other half would be Chinese, learning to speak and write in Chinese and rich in Chinese culture learning. Also, all children learn to play the violin K-4th grade. They are really committed to the advantages of advancing the brain through music! In fact, the arts are very evident. The girls will learn to dance the beautiful Chinese style of dance. In reading about the education they will get I get so excited for them!!!! This is exactly the experience we were looking to take them to in China! This spring break is all about cleaning and packing up the cottage near my work so we can sell it. If we sell it we will be driving from our lake house, which is our main house for my last year of work (43 miles one way). I drove it for 8 years before the cottage so I can do it again for the last year. We will keep both cars until the end of the year next year and sell them (No car payments or car insurance while we are in China!). We can leave in 14 months but what seems a long time really isnt when you have so much to take care of, from vehicles to properties and our VRBO business which will be run by some realistate friends of ours who will continue that business for us until we return state side. Transferring medical scripts for prescriptions etc. etc. etc. Well I could talk your leg off about all of this but I will stop for now with a virtual tour of YCIS and a link to the Chinese culture piece!
