Right from the beginning my platform has revolved around process. Downtown revitalization can only occur once a solid community plan is created through a collective vision. This means making sure that everyone has an opportunity for input, looking for examples of good practise and thoughtfully building a plan of execution. We must continually be mindful of how we are communicating with the very folks who put us in office. I am hoping to bring my experience and leadership skills to the city council table. I believe that I am in a unique position to contribute in that I have worked in the Castlegar public sector for the last 20 years, I understand what it takes to work respectfully in a unionized environment. I also own two small businesses in the Castlegar area and fully understand the importance that municipal politics plays in their success.
