Right now Im about as mad as a human can possibly be. U-Haul has managed to completely screw both my roommate and myself today. First by losing Joshs reservation for a truck and only being able to provide us with a van, despite there being about 40 trucks at various locations weve passed today including the 19 at the U-haul storage center on Capital Blvd. Which brings me to my little bit of unhappy. I reserved online on Thursday a 5x10x6 storage space on the first floor of their facility. Upon arrival today I was told they did not have a 5x10 available. Im looking at their website now and its still telling me they have them available despite my not being able to get one today. I decided to take a 5x5 because I had a vanload full of stuff and didnt want to bring back to the house to just unload and have to reload tomorrow. It took forever to enter in my information, and after reviewing my contract have found several errors (apparently Fayetteville is now spelled Faitvill, and Durham is now spelled Durrum) including a higher premium of insurance than I had agreed to pay previously. They were incapable of producing a reciept for me, and upon reviewing my bank records I see that I have been charged a total of $82.85, almost a dollar more than what my quote said I would pay for a 5x10. We get to the facility, and cannot figure out how to get in as we were given absolutely no instruction, the large automatic doors were locked, we had to bring everything through a standard sized door. Good thing I didnt wanna move my bed or anything tonight since I have 24 hour access (which apparently costs extra). They told me the wrong unit number, and my unit is on the second floor. I am so unbelievably unhappy right now, Its obviously not stressful enough to have to put all of your things in storage, apparently now I have to do it in half the space while Im paying more. I called the customer care number, and was told Id have to wait until 9 am tomorrow to call the store manager at that location, that she could not help me. Today U-haul gets negative five stars.
