Rihai Manch launches mail campaign for ATR on Nimesh panel report By Muslim Mirror News, In a bid to put pressure on the Samajwadi Party government of Uttar Pradesh to table action taken report on the RD Nimesh Commission report in the upcoming monsoon session of the state assembly, the Rihai Manch on Tuesday launched post card/email campaign. The RD Nimesh Commission, appointed by the state government in 2008 to probe the abduction/arrest of Khalid Mujahid and Tariq Qasmi in December 2007, submitted its report to the present government in October 2012 and sought action against the guilty police officials who wrongly arrested and implicated the duo in terror cases. But chief minister Akhilesh Yadav did not take action on the report, and meanwhile Khalid Mujahid died mysteriously in police custody on 18th May 2013. Rihai Manch started the indefinite dharna in front of the state assembly on 20th May demanding tabling of the report. Khalid Mujahid was a resident of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. He was picked in Dec. 2007 for the court blasts in November same year in the state. The government appointed commission RD Nimesh Commission had enquired into his arrest and found it as illegal and fake. Following the report, the family and human rights activists demanded release of Khalid Mujahid. In last two weeks, the state government had given indication of his release. But on 18th May he died in mysterious circumstances in police van when he was being brought from Faizabad court to Lucknow jail. Rihai Manch has urged people to send post card and email to chief minister Akhilesh Yadav demanding action taken report in the monsoon session of the assembly. Text to be sent to the chief minister To The Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Sir As per your promise please call the monsoon session and table the action taken report on Nimesh Commission report and guarantee the release of Tariq Qasmi, taking action against those police men who falsely fabricated Tariq and Late Khalid Mujahid in terror cases. Rihai Manch is on an indefinite dharna on this issue for the last two and half months at Vidhan Sabha dharna sthal. Take notice to it.
