Ripper Moon Halo tonight! As mentioned earlier on page - At 7:30pm tonight we have reports of a big ring around the moon in the Wide Bay Burnett region. It is called a 22° halo which forms as moonlight is refracted in millions of randomly oriented hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. Halos appear when the sky is covered by thin cirrus clouds which are currently being detected on Satellite images over parts of QLD tonight. Thanks for sharing Norman :)
