Rise Up to perform your great exploits! About a decade ago when I had just begun painting live outside my own church and ministry events, Michal Ann and James Goll opened the door for me to paint at their incredible Women on the Frontlines conference in Nashville. Their dream to gather women trailblazers who could impart the life and power of Christ into generations of women and change the world inspired me to paint Rise Up at that conference. As I painted it, I was first inspired by the life of the great judge and general Deborah, and then Joan of Arc. By the time I finished it, I knew it represented all women through the ages and today who choose to rise up against great odds and make a difference. So many women have declared, Thats me! when they see the painting. After Michal Anns passing, Patricia King launched Women on the Frontlines - Extreme with James in Phoenix. This year Patricia asked me prepare a giclee of Rise Up that she could present to James and that would capture the vision of Michal Ann and all women on the frontlines. I was thrilled to share the back story of the painting at last weeks conference and how thankful I am that Michal Ann and James gave me one of the first opportunities to rise up and achieve my own God-ordained exploits in the area of art and creativity.
