Risk Analyst/Senior Risk Analyst Our client, Montpelier Group, provides customized, innovative, and timely reinsurance and insurance solutions to the global market. On behalf of Montpelier, we invite applications for the positions of Risk Analyst/Senior Risk Analyst. Reporting to the VP, Risk Management, the focus of these positions is to model catastrophe reinsurance submissions whilst working closely with the underwriting and actuarial teams. Duties and Responsibilities: • Validate exposure information, complete data quality analysis and resolve data issues prior to running analysis. • Carry out detailed risk analysis of submissions, using multiple catastrophe modeling software packages including the Company’s proprietary models • Interpret model output, identify unmodeled exposures, communicate results to underwriters with recommendations. Provide detailed modeling notes, and document files • Continually update modeling software knowledge and train other analysts in the use of various catastrophe modeling packages and database products • Participate in research and development activities within the cat modeling team to enhance understanding of models • Take responsibility for identifying and communicating pricing quality and risk management issues • Lead projects to analyze exposure data, validate models and improve output and processes Qualifications, Skills &Experience: • University degree such as B.Sc., B.A., etc. • For the Senior Risk Analyst position - at least 4 years’ experience working with AIR, RMS and/or EQE catastrophe modeling software, including querying and extracting data from back end tables • For the Risk Analyst position 1 – 3 years’ experience is required. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access and SQL databases. • Visual Basic and/or SQL programming experience advantageous • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy • Highly developed analytical skills and problem solving abilities • Strong work ethic with the aptitude and commitment to meet strict deadlines • Ability to use own initiative, work independently and manage multiple projects • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and public holidays when necessary Interested?
