Rivers state polytechnic bori has been shutdown till further notice due to the fracas that occurred yesterday Wednesday on an election ground between a HND II electrical electronic student and a security personnel who was a representative to observe the election proceedings on the election of the Akwa-Ibom State new Excos for 2014/2015 session. Sources said the student of the ethnic group started making hell of noise and walking in and out of the hall as they notice some fishy moves among the Eleco members to rig the election. In an attempt to control the in and out movement of the student the security personnel mounted at the door of the election hall preventing people from leaving and entering the hall again. It all started as an Eleco member who was supposed to be in the hall and ensure protocols are observed was restrained from entering. The student (Eleco member) still insisted on entering but was turned down tried to force his way through into the hall was given a slap from the security personnel, the student who could not take such an abuse gave the security personnel a return-slap, the security personnel called on the chief security officer (CSO) and the CSO came with vans of special Anti-robery Squad (SARS), they came and started beating the student with rod as he refuse going with them to the station. The student was beaten with blood flowing all over his body untill he was finally weak and could not hold on to his grip. He was taken to the station unconscious and was not allowed to be seen by his ethnic members. Feelings that he was dead grieved the entire students which led to the vandalisation of the entire campus this morning
