#RlyBudget4AccheDin== Railways contribute on 4.5 % of GDP . With this bullet train Idea and huge price rise in Railway fare and freight charges I am sure Railways will be more sick because people will stop going by train and goods will be ferried by roads more due to now India have world class roads last 10 years of INC rule . Railways contribute only 10 % of total passenger traffic in India having 12000 passenger trains catering to only 22 million people and contribute less than 1/3 of total freight movement in India .What we need --No costly bullet train but change existing gauze line to more double and triple line for more more trains to run -- Make two kind of fare . One is for Urban and other for Rural Indians . 80% people lives in Rural India having less income than Urban people so make it max Rs 7 for 100 km journey and beyond make it Rs 20 per person with no charges for children upto 12 years . This way more no of people will travel by train in Rural India with less ticket less travel which will generate huge turn over from Rural India . What our Railway Ministers last 30 years never bother for Rural Indians but want clap from Urban populations only
