Road Rage (Uh, maybe parking lot rage today): I kinda get the road rage thing. 2 guys being tough, nobody wants to admit they dont own the road, or perhaps that the almost mishap was their fault. Can even see two chics having issues. But, today was a new low for someone. So, Im in the Walmart parking lot after just stopping to speak with someone I knew. Note that I forgot to roll my windows back up (not used to be them being down). After 2 almost mishaps (within the prior 2 minutes) from a car speeding too fast and then me trying to back out w/view being mostly blocked, I was stopped at the stop sign fixing to turn right to go the rest of the way to get out on 11-E. I was fixing to proceed, but was cautious because I see very few people stop as they are coming from the left (as if they were coming from Game Stop or Dollar Tree), and I was already a little rattled from the two prior almosts. This guy in a white truck and long trailer behind doesnt even slow down at the Stop sign. Im not mad, just shaking my head slightly and mumbled, there IS a stop sign there. Seriously, didnt yell, shake my fists or any other cute signs. He yells to me, YOU JUST DONT WORRY ABOUT IT!!! I turn to Keaton and said, I really wasnt worried about it. He yells again, but since he is in front of me at that point, I cannot read his lips or hear well. Keaton did say very loudly, Hey! or something like that. This guy stops his truck, right before you get on the highway, gets out and walks back to my car. A car occupied by a short woman and a 15 yr old kid! What was he thinking? (apparently doesnt have much to do that with, I guess) He asked me, with clenched fists WHATD YOU SAY? I repeated my words, I said that I really wasnt worried about it, speaking very nonchalantly. He turned while saying, Thats what I thought! You would have thought he just come from some great boxing title match that he just won. I smiled real big and told him (a little louder), You just have your self a nice day! Im really not known for backing down when Im upset, but like I said before, I really wasnt. I will say the me from several years ago would have probably required the cops to be called for at least one of us. This idiot wanted to fuss or start a fight with a woman and a teenager. I didnt cut him off. I didnt yell at him. He was the one that ran the stop sign. Sure; he probably had a bad day. But, what people dont know could seriously get them killed. I carry; it was loaded and on my person. I prepared myself for months before with prayer and mental thinking that with that ability & responsibility, I need to always try to stay calm and in control. Not exactly sure how I would have reacted had he came at me in the car, as there was people waiting behind us to leave the parking lot, I would not have been able to back up and away from him. My intention is not to go around killing people, but to protect myself and my family in a crazy messed up world that we currently live in. I dont go looking for a fight, or try to instigate one. My son told me I should have let him go at him, later making comments about what would have happened if my husband would have been there. I told him with this male (definitely NOT a man), he would have never even approached my vehicle if Jim would have been inside. For whatever reason this guy felt better after telling off what he thought was a poor helpless woman and her teenage son. Like I said, what people dont know . . .
