Road closed as work continues at Steel Point The section of East Main Street between the Interstate 95 overpass at Ann Street and Stratford Avenue will be fully closed to traffic for the next two weeks as infrastructure work continues on Steel Point. From now through Sept. 27, motorists should use Kossuth Street and Waterview Avenue to get around the area. For several months, companies have been working to install new underground utilities, including electrical, water, gas, telecommunications, sanitary and storm sewers at the future site of the Steelpointe Harbor development. The roads are also being widened in that area. While there have been temporary road closures, the current work being done by AT&T and R&D Construction in that section of East Main Street will require full, around-the-clock closure, city officials said.
