Road was terrible for 65km. It went from smooth in the city area where I was, then 5km out of the city the road just stopped. I literally felt like I entered a construction site. I thought many times that I made a wrong turn somewhere, but when I saw the Yuan River, Im positive Im on the right track. It progressed from red soil, to rim-deep slippery mud, to really small lanes, and finally to unpaved and broken road with loose stones. A lot of angry trucks too. I was lucky my bike survived. It was definitely not tuned for such a condition. One broken spoke and the journey would be over. (until the next big town. I noticed a lack of bike shops along the way). The reason for such terrible roads is because heavy trucks pass through daily due to Yuan River dam that is being built. I hope it doesnt continue for far too long. Really worried my bike could not handle it. Got my VPN working but connection is shaky. #kayuhadventure #china
