Rob has today off, so we went out for breakfast at Mimis Cafe and then did some shopping at Costco, where I found a Shirley Temple Collection, Volume 3 DVD set. I had the first two volumes, and I *think* this completes what Fox has issued, although I guess Poor Little Rich Girl is still missing in action. This Volume 3 set contains Stand Up and Cheer, which I havent seen since I was five, but I remember it being a very, very strange film with truly bizarre comedy from Stepin Fetchit and an ending in which a man rushes into the White House and proclaims that the Depression is over. There were some highly unusual movies being produced in the early 30s; one that even tops this picture is Gabriel Over the White House, with Walter Huston as a very dictatorial President.
