Robbery in Abbey Park Issued on 11/3/14 at 11:54 a.m. Crime number: CB/01070/14-1 Officers are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Leicester. The incident took place at around 4.30pm on Friday February 21, in Abbey Park, when the 18-year-old victim was sitting with a friend on a bench close to the miniature railway. Three men approached the victim and started to speak before threatening him and demanding that he handed over his mobile phone. The victim fearing being assaulted handed over his white Apple iPhone, and the suspects walked off in the direction of the football centre, threatening the victim should he decide to follow them. After a short while the victim stopped a passer-by and called the police. The first suspect is described as black, 5’8” tall, average build, around 18-years-old, wearing a grey hooded top (possibly Adidas) and black jeans. He wore his hood up. The second suspect is described as black, also 5’8” tall, average build, 18 or 19-years-old, wearing a navy-blue Adidas hooded tracksuit with the hood up. The third suspect is described as black, 5’10”tall, average build, 19-20-years-old; short (shaved) curly black hair, wearing a black hoodless Adidas tracksuit. Detective Constable 4492 Sandra Kelly, the investigating officer, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in Abbey Park at around the time of the incident and recalls seeing three men matching these descriptions to contact us.”
