Robin Williams and I had one thing in common, and that was to make - TopicsExpress

Robin Williams and I had one thing in common, and that was to make a concentrated effort to make people laugh every day. The old saying about the Clown crying inside is very true. I would say most comedians learn to make people laugh as a defense mechanism. I know I did. And so it hits very close to home when someone who has made me laugh so hard and brought such joy to so many would feel so much hurt that they would choose to end their life. My pawpaw always told me, regarding suicide, Son, it NEVER gets that bad. And you know what? It never has or will. I have never told anyone that I contemplated/struggled with suicide in my late teens, but it was very real for me then. Looking back I see the grace of God and the love of friends and family that brought me back. So my point is... If you are hurting and the smiling/happy face you show in public is the opposite of the one you look at in the mirror every night, I want you to know there is hope. Things are very rarely as bad as they might seem. Dont close yourself off from the people who care about you. They will be the ones who just might save your life. #myhopeisinJesus
