Robin Williams death has touched something inside my heart ! A couple of years ago I met and became friends with a Corvette Pal. Several months later I intercepted his thoughts with a note hed written on facebook and I had this overwhelming feeling I just couldnt shake... so I phoned the authorities who in turn showed up at his house. His wife told me that I had thwarted his attempt to commit suicide that night. After that I believed hed be okay and was getting the professional help he needed... but then several months later to my shock/sadness/disbelief I learned he had made another attempt and was successful in ending his life this time ! It tears my heart up to think of the anguish and despair and the hopelessness they both must have felt at the end ! Suicide leaves the ones left behind to wonder if they couldve/shouldve done more ! Depression is a cruel affliction... It is no respecter of persons... poor/destitute rich/famous or just the good at heart ! PLease... dont judge and condemn those who suffer from depression... but offer them encouragement and genuinity ! If YoU have never suffered from it... thank your lucky stars ! If YoU suffer from depression and YoU feeL heLpLess and hopeLess... PLease... before YoU take matters into your own hands... Please... I implore YoU to reach out for heLp... theres no shame or weakness in asking... we ALL need heLp from time to time ! RIP Johnny Ikner
