Robin Williams, hey? Suicide is a train that derails over & over. I lost two very best friends to suicide. My friend Stephen slashed himself to ribbons before eventually leaping from the Lions Gate bridge.His brother Jim had shot himself in the family basement some years previous. When I found my friend Elizabeth, there were bloody towels, razor blades in the pinkish bathwater, floors littered with pills; the Coroner was uncertain as to Cause of Death, she had also consumed a caustic substance. She was done. But, I am still trying to help her. I have gone with friends to hold their hands while their stomachs were pumped, listened to Nina Mouscouri records skipping over & over on the Psych ward, been there my own self, my mother came to me once holding up the empty bottle of sleeping meds she had just swallowed. They all suffered from depression. My maternal grandparents were a murder-suicide up in Vernon in the 40s. Suicide leaves many questions. I see it as an extremely focused, independent, personal act. Mr Williams burned bright. But it hurt him. RIP
