Robin Williams was one of those icons of TV and film who few people could say I remember him in.... and then replay a favorite scene or impromptu classic. He came on board as Popeye, tickled our funny bones as Mork, gave us gut splitting comedic and moving dramatic performances, provided the voices of some of our favorite animated characters, and left us a wealth of rich memories. But behind his sparkling eyes and infectious smile, wrestled a man suffering from deep depression. Do you know what depression looks like? Can you spot a friend or family member suffering from depression? Depression is indiscriminate. It can strike anybody, even an apparently jovial and humanitarian person like Robin Williams. Take time to know your friends and family. Ask the right questions before you lose somebody close to you. What a sad state of affairs when the world loses a person that has so much to contribute. And everybody has something to contribute. My heart goes out to his family and I share a tear for the loss of the man they love.
