Robot & Frank (2012) Dir. Jake Schreier. A former thief who is losing his memory (Frank Langella) is given a robot helper by his son (James Marsden). Like Her, this movie does a great job of realistically portraying the near future while remaining focused on the characters. Both, in fact, make you view elements of the future technology as characters themselves--in this case the robot helper. This movie has a sense of humor that thankfully never breaks its integrity, as often happens in cases like this, but it also made me feel sadder than any movie Ive seen in a while. Not a must-watch, it lacks the impact of Her, but Id still recommend this one.
